Tru Life And Future Have Unreleased Songs Together, But Will We Ever Hear Them?

Tru Life is making his way back into the hip-hop scene. It started with his new Rick Ross-assisted “Bag for It” single, and continues this week as he stops by The Breakfast Club. During the sit-down, he runs through a bit of his history with Future and says the two have unreleased songs sitting on a hard drive somewhere in the world.

The two connected way before Future existed, the days where he went by the awful first-rap name of Meathead. “I don’t even know Future,” he says. “I know Meathead. We grew up together in The Dungeon with his cousin Rico Wade. We did records together and stuff like that.” Tru Life then talked about being accepted in the Dungeon Family.

Unfortunately, those songs with “Meathead” will never be heard. When Angela Yee asked if they’d ever be released, Tru gave a simple “no.” It’s probably best too, because I can’t imagine Future sounding as good as he does now back when he first started. Going forward, Tru Life lets the people know that they can expect to see some more things with Future.

The interview is insightful into who Tru Life is. For many fans, you know the story. He signed to Jay Z’s Roc La Familia, but did you know it was Green Lantern who introduced the two? Or that it was almost a joint venture with Jeezy’s CTE? These are just a few tidbits coming out of another excellent interview with The Breakfast Club. Tru also speaks on his upcoming documentary (Brenda’s Baby), how Ving Rhames is like a father to him, his time in prison and how the whole situation affected him, and more.
