Long before Lil Wayne had his own split with Cash Money Records there was all the drama with Tyga who eventually got his release from the label. On his newest track “Cash Money” Tyga takes his time to send a few, slight shots at his former label.
“Cause I’m paid, cash money
Cash Money never paid me, but your boy did his thing
And still made, cash money
Yeah it’s mine, I could throw it in the air if I wanna”
He even went so far as the shout out Lil Wayne, say “Free The Carter 5” and ape an old Big Tymers’ flow on his verses. The icing on the cake is the cover art, which features a dozen or so people alongside Tyga dressed in traditional Hot Boyz attire: gigantic white tees and bandanas around the neck.
