Steve Stoute tells Angie Martinez his top 5 influential artists and explains why 50 Cent is not in his top 5. Is Steve Stoute selling 50 Cent’s influence short?
its 2014…what influence does 050 cent have on ANYBODY? souljah boy? lmaooooo FOH
Steve Stoute is a funny dude. I was dying at the end when he said “..well hopefully it gets on the radio” hahahahaha
LIKE HIM OR NOT, 50 IS THE ONE WHO BROUGHT MIXTAPES BACK AND MIXTAPES IS EVERYTHING THESE PAST 5 YEARS
Stout is a hater.
WOW I aint madd he spoke the truth but i did have a huge impact on culture early on in my career hopefully i will do it again
never count me out
Decent list but was it just pertaining to artist? 50 had his time, but I never count someone out who showed early genius. Its still there, just searching for the formula that those other guys have been able to duplicate.
You know.. Steve Stout has some truth to what he said about fif. But when he mentioned that 50 didn’t really contribute anything to the culture he took it way to far. It almost seemed personal were that statement came from. Fifty is my nigga, and all I can say is the shit that’s going on right now was the same shit he had to deal with on his come up back in the day. Hes always been black balled. Truth be told he aint suppose to be in the game with these fake insustry niggas. Fifty has always been a under dawg and had to get his shit on is own. He’ll do it again, because he’s done it already. Fuck ya’ll niggas
The most important is not Stoute’s opinion, it’s that most of the comments are going contrary to his interpretation of things.
This nigga trying to sell tanning of America and he’s looking to use fif’s influence to gain controversy to sell. Ironic lol
Steve your a hater!!! 50 did what a true hustler is suppose to do get in the game make the most money you can!!! He made mixtapes so hot again that even jay dropped his first and only mixtape, he made g unit a household name in less than 2 years. Banks, buck, game platinuim yayo gold. Hes the first rap artist with major international touring. Plus 50’s past is actually authentic and matches his music. Etc. I honestly believe two most influential artist in hiphop would be 50 and Cam . Its like saying rakim, kool g rap etc arent influential because they dont have a hit negro please
what this bolhead talking about, Dr Dre detox never come out,
what this bolhead talking about, Dr Dre detox never come out.
the reality is 50 has made the most money with the least amount of work/exposure. vitamin water was bigger than one thing jay has done. jay has had to have this hand so many different areas to amass the money 50 got from vitamin water. and whats still surprising is that as popular and influential as jay is, he is only selling 2 million albums at most, i understand the record buying game has changed, but u cant overlook jays relative low numbers compared to his the multiple markets hes in NBA, heinken, HP, durcell, du’ese, reebook, samsung, united nations water campaign. 50 got most of his deals after vitamin water.
Stoute and 50 Cent have had history of words, this is nothing new. Stoute is speaking to history of his feelings of 50 Cent but at the same time he is telling the truth. Stoute believes in everybody eats 50 Cent believes only he should eat.
The one thing we can be certain of, 50 Cent will now have a marketing strategy. Steve Stoute!!!!
Stout is just an old enemy of 50 who’s a little jealous that he’s accumulated about 4x’s the fortune that Stout has in about 1/4 of the time.
Dipset also help bring back mixtapes, not just 50.
lol at the angry 50 stans
Stoute sound hurt about something. Havent had a mass hit in awhile but he still influential. Even rappers acknowledge what 50 taught them behind the scenes. Jay magna came and went, Ross cant go platinum, and Kanye has to whine to sell records for some reason. Bunch of fakes with these lukewarm hits nowadayz
Diplomats had a hand in it, but 50 was really the one who used mixtapes to build his hype for his projects before his debut dropped and in between his camps’ releases with remixed current singles, 1 verse teasers, etc.
Whoo Kid said it best: “It was the new blueprint for your promotion.”
lol Stout is a hater lol
WOW ! Where did that come from ? He must’ve owed Jimmy Iovine a favor . REALTALKNY.NET had post a article once . Not too long ago about all the influence 50 cent had on the game . i think it might’ve been from the xxl or vide or something like that . they need to re-post that next to this interview and see how silly this sounds !
I don’t see how Wayne doesn’t make that list. Between introducing hire many flows & niggas clothes
