Young Thug Releases His ‘Elton’ Collab With The Fugees’ Wyclef Jean

The only thing fans can ever expect from Young Thug is the unexpected. Knowing that, it shouldn’t necessarily surprise anyone that the enigmatic rapper would turn up with a new number titled “Elton” featuring former Fugees frontman Wyclef Jean of all people.

“Elton” is one of the tracks that Thug hinted would be on his soon to be released Jeffery mixtape. The song’s sultry, guitar-driven production matches its promiscuous lyrics as Thug and ‘Clef each romanticize their pursuit of a temptress. While Thug uses his usual skittering delivery to bounce his lines in all directions, Wyclef manages to croon “Jeffery” in the background before coming through with a verse of his own that’s warm and delivered with a bit more subtlety than his younger counterpart.

The track is the second new offering Thugger has shared this week. Earlier, he was featured on a joint track with T.I., the similarly music idol titled tune “Bobby Womack.” Jeffery is expected to release at some point this weekend, and Thug is set to appear on Travi$ Scott’s .wav radio show on Apple Music’s Beats 1 at 3 p.m. EST on Friday. So take in “Elton” now as an appetizer before the main course is delivered.
