This week’s TV Avalanche podcast episode concludes with our discussion of a pair of road trip episodes featuring Carrie Coon — and then into a debate about which Coon character would make a better traveling companion — but the episode takes a bunch of detours along the way, including Brian’s ongoing difficulty to accept that Senator Elizabeth Warren apparent loves HBO’s Ballers.
Though a surprising obsession actually feels on-topic for an episode where we also discuss Amazon’s sexual obsession comedy I Love Dick, and there’s some obsessiveness at work as well in the new season of Netflix’s Master of None. And in between the reviews of the two streaming series and our spoiler segments on Fargo and The Leftovers, Brian tried to fool me with a quiz about some of the pilots in contention for next week’s network upfronts, mixed in with descriptions of pilots he invented out of whole cloth.
