When 2 Chainz isn’t on his day job of rhyming about the life of luxury and wealth, he embraces his more charitable side by doing the lord’s work and spreading it around a little. Last week, he gifted a family a year’s worth of rent, along with furniture, through his T.R.U. Foundation. Now, the rapper is giving back again, this time to another family in need.
Damien Walker and Tamifonika Jones recently lost everything due to a house fire that entrapped them along with their belongings. Because of smoke inhalation, one of their four children, Antonio, suffered brain damage, and now has trouble with simple motor skills, talking, walking, and even seeing. 2 Chainz learned of the catastrophe though news coverage, and decided to help the family out by giving them a brand new minivan that will help escort Antonio to and from the medical facility that is helping him to re-learn his basic functions. The Honda Odyssey minivan will also be able to accommodate Antonio’s wheelchair, making it easier for the family of four to transport the young man to his rehab facility where he is working on getting back to 100 percent.
The T.R.U. Foundation is an Atlanta-based, non-profit organization founded by the rapper and Nakesha Ward back in 2012, and its mission is to give to those who are less fortunate or who have suffered losses. Previous instances of charity also include the organization’s recent gifting of 1,500 turkeys to those struggling to buy food for Thanksgiving.
