Too often, the good that athletes do is overlooked. Whether it be for a tax write-off or for genuine good, any act that involves you taking what you have and sharing with others is respectable.

The Skinny

— NFL star Nnamdi Asomugha decides to help homeless teen after CNN report.

— Kenneth Chancey, 17, lived in homeless shelter, yet made all A’s and is class president.

— Asomugha will take Chancey and 19 other inner-city kids on college tour in spring.

Given Kenneth Chancey’s drive, he appears to be a kid who would make it whether he received the benefits of an assist or not. But with the help of Oakland Raider Nnamdi Asomugha, Chancey’s path may have gotten a little clearer.

Respect to the Packers’ Charles Woodson as well, who donated $2 million to the new University of Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital.
