For the past three days, I’ve been hunkered down in Manhattan, immersed in Nike Basketball’s media event to announce their creation of the World Basketball Festival in partnership with USA Basketball. From new sneakers, to plans to takeover NYC hoops this summer (sorry LBJ), the partnership’s ultimate goal is to use the sport to foster a global impact on communities.
Once I get situated, I’ll share a full disclosure of all that I saw and heard. Until then, check the full press release by clicking here.
Two members of Tuesday’s panel, Kevin Durant and Kenny “The Jet” Smith.
Three of the sneakers that were on display – the Hyperdunk 2010 and the new Zoom Hyperfuse. Also, a familiar face in Rik Cordero, there @ one of the tables. He’s shooting a documentary for the WBF. Perhaps one of my favorites was the Trainer 1.2 Mid Hyperfuse. Of course, I’m a sucker for neon too so that might explain my affinity.
And when I say “hunkered” down, I can feel my nose growing. The view from my hotel room is to die for.
