The producers of Kathryn Bigelow’s baby girl, The Hurt Locker, will teach you to pirate the Best Picture of the year. According to CNN, Voltage Pictures filed a formal copyright complaint against 5,000 nondescript pesty for illegally sharing the movie on peer-to-peer networks. They have the IP addresses. As far as the names, well…they’re still figuring that part out.
Voltage has asked the court to order anyone who downloaded the movie illegally to destroy all copies of “The Hurt Locker” on their computers and any other electronic device that they may have stored the film. Attorneys for Voltage wrote in the complaint that unless the court stops the people who pirate “The Hurt Locker,” then Voltage will suffer “great and irreparable injury that cannot fully be compensated or measured in money.”
That’s right. We want to see the streets littered with Macbooks and portable hard drives by tomorrow. It’s the only way to purge yourselves of your torrent sins against humanity.
