Day One: Nike World Basketball Festival

By 08.13.10

My feet have seen blocks and miles. My eyes have engaged in a battle of attrition, attempting to take in all the tall buildings and athletes. Nike’s vision for the World Basketball Festival has come to fruition, whirling caravans of journalists, photographers and bloggers around NYC.

My pics from yesterday are stored on my other camera, and I’ll access them later, but here’s a couple from yesterday’s media event at Radio City Music Hall, which included the full 2010 squad, and luminaries from Nike and USA Basketball. Below, there’s also footage of Jay’s full performance from last night.

Oh yeah, day two has already started with a bang as Carmelo, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade showed up for a Jordan Brand event @ Rucker this morning. The trio hammed it up, smiling for the cameras and even challenging groups of kids to several rounds of three-on-three. All fun and games…until Michael Jordan walked in the park. Yep, Money. The whole crowd fell awestruck. More on that whole experience later.

So Jay last night, Mike today. I’ll be Rucker during the day and at the Apollo tonight. If you’re in the city, come by and get @ me.
