I am an accidental t-shirt collector. By that, I mean I acquire tees knowing d#mn well I won’t wear them since usually I’m either in a simple white tee or a oxford shirt. Still, I ordered Nike Sportswear’s Hot Verbiage tee last week and I’m glad I did because now it’s gone from NDC. What does the phrase mean exactly? A reference to athletic brand’s marketplace monopoly over the competition? A play on their once regal star’s newly acquired blemishes? I think the ambiguity is part of its beauty. That and the felt lettering.
