R&B Mixtapes Run Rampant

Look, here’s the deal, take these two mixtapes because at some point they will prove their worth. Trey Songz and Chris Brown are cool in my book and not because we all hail from the same state. There was a reason C.B.’s “No Bullshit” made TSS’ favorite tracks of the halfway point of 2010 and why Trey’s Anticipation was better than a lot of R&B projects since then.

You see, women like these two. And I like women. A lot. So at the very least they will always have a spot on the playlist. Now if you’re lucky enough to meet a Sanaa Lathan “Brown Sugar” type chick who loves Freddie Gibbs’ pistol toting, weed smoking bars like the rest of us, that’s a different story. But having something like these in the back pocket is never a bad option.

Petersburg’s own utilizes the phenomenon known as Twitter and incorporates it into his latest mixtape with hashtags and @’s galore all in celebration of his November 28th birthday. The 16 track project encompasses Songz tackling eight industry insturmentals and eight original recordings thanks to in-house producers @MarkTheMogul and @SKMusic.

Over the holiday weekend, Chris dropped off the sequel to his DJ Drama assisted In My Zone mixtape. Big Sean, Gucci Mane, Kevin McCall, Tha Bizness and more all ride shotgun.
