I’m guessing Randy Moss was hoping for a better Sunday.
While the breakup with New England wasn’t necessarily acrimonious, there’s no doubt Moss wanted to prove to that his old team had given up on him too early. Moss did little to inspire Belichick’s doubters however, gathering only one catch for a measly 8 yards on the day and submitting a “please take me back” rant for the ages after the game.
Instead, it was the Pats’ day again as BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran for 100 second half yards against a disinterested Vikings defense. The hero of the game though was backup defensive lineman Myron Pryor, who did what millions of fans wished they could do, knock Brett Favre out cold. While Favre was carted off with an apparent broken jaw, he miraculously recovered in time for a press conference, insuring ESPN another week of speculation. Our loss.
