Since DC Comics are letting their benchwarming crimefighters get some shine while the primetime heros get some R&R, Marvel says “sure why not” and blows dust off of Thor’s hammer to give him a blockbuster opportunity in 2011 all the same.
Much like most comic book movies this century, this one adheres to the same model as making mythological stories as real as possible. [Sir] Anthony Hopkins stars as Thor’s daddy who cast him out to be amongst the mere mortals until little brother Loki starts to cause trouble at the dinner table. See, I’m no David D. but I know a lil’ sumpthin, sumpthin. With Natalie Portman and Idris Elba adding more starpower and a guaranteed 3-D screening for that extra bump in ticket sales, May 6th, 2011 will be the official Nordic coming out party.
