As I’m writing this, the local “action” news and all the negativity that go along with it are muted and used only as illumination. The irony lies in the fact I’m listening to Rob Jay’s newest track, “Generational Curse,” which is about as uplifting as Yokozuna sitting on your shoulders. Nonetheless, this rapper-turned-teacher narrates three extremely detailed and dire tales with an almost Common-esque delivery, reminding us all how damaging destructive parents can be on their offspring.
This song is so damn visual, an equally aspiring director might adapt the sh*t into a screenplay.
