Honestly, after hearing Young Gliss’ anti-swag, 9th-Wonder-produced “Glimmer,” I didn’t foresee the first single from Dealing With The Pressure Vol. 2 to be boasting about “The Life.” But, I digress, as I was again sucked in by this Philly fanatic’s lyrical imagery and on-again-off-again flow, regardless of the topic. The talent is obvious, especially over an easy-going, stratospheric backdrop like this. But, after hearing only a handful of songs, I’m still not sure which crowd he’s trying to align himself with – the backpackers, the smokers or the chauffeur-only crowd?
Branding strategies aside, I’m pretty damn sure he’ll be going hard if you give this man his lane.
