One of the downfalls of the Electronic genre is the drawn-out intro. Take
French Swedish DJ/Producer Avicii’s OG version of his roundhouse rager “ID (Levels),” for example. The song’s driving melody sucks you in like a Kirby vacuum and it’s so simmering it leaves you wanting to go battle-dance super-villains. I’m talking, blacktop in the summer hot. But, if you turned it off before the one minute and ten-second mark, you probably wouldn’t know that. More than likely, you would’ve called me names that rhyme with flag and thought this Chiropractor-friendly shoulder-shaker was just another drum-heavy, fist-pumping house track. Which it’s a million and one miles from.
If you’re intro turning the tempo up, getting amped and showing up Krang’s punk-ass, bare with the intro on this and let’s head to Dimension X with this sonic jet-pack.
