Remember when the Eddie Long scandal was the biggest news story in America? Then it suddenly dropped off the face of the Earth with no real reason as to why. Credit that to the present-day media cycle, but also to paperwork so intricate that if the words “Eddie,” “Long” and “sexual misconduct” were ever put in the same sentence there would be hell to pay for further damning this man of God. Turns out money, not prayers, made everything go away and as an attorney close to the situation described it, “the matters have been resolved” (for $15M says Big Boi).
Neither side would comment further and settlement terms were unknown. Susan S. Raines, a professor of conflict management at Kennesaw State University, said it is not uncommon in civil damages cases for the terms to be private among the parties.
According to Bernstein’s office, neither she nor the plaintiffs — Maurice Robinson, Jamal Parris, Anthony Flagg and Spencer LeGrande — would be available for an interview “on this matter, now or in the future. “
Not available for interviews ever, huh? That’s not surprising at all. Money talks and it even says “In God We Trust” on back of the dollar. Let that marinate.
