Nearly three and a half months have passed since Chance Fischer last appeared around these parts. It would be hard to fault the guy, however, seeing as how he is gearing up to receive his Bachelor’s from Cornell University in Hotel Administration in a matter of weeks. The convergence on his classroom studies obviously takes precedence – pretty sure Mama Fischer wouldn’t have it any other way – but elevating to the top floor of Hip Hop remains near the apex of his priority list. This year alone he has opened for acts like Big K.R.I.T., Freddie Gibbs, Mac Miller and more while increasing his name slowly but surely each day in influential circles.
Later this summer, Chance will release his third project entitled Friends.Romans.Collegemen. Drawing inspiration from the opening line of Marc Antony’s closing speech in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, Chance is attempting to make a splash right out of the gate. The soon-to-be Cornell alum snagged fellow Richmond native Nickelus F. to join their 804 talents over the boisterous and bass friendly D. Nilsz-produced “Damn.” Both Cap City marksmen do their best to parallel park on the beat with enough ego and bravado to make The O’Reilly Factor appear timid.
As an artist who has pretty much grown up around TSS, it should be interesting to witness what strides Chance takes with F.N.C. He’s got a few months to iron kinks out, perfect beats and verses, experience life in the “real world” and incorporate it in his craft; otherwise known as four key ingredients into creating quality music.
