Losing at video games isn't the end of the world. Still, failure at the hands of some cheap character throws a batch of salt on the wound. Even victories gained via unbalanced competitors get the side eye. The gaming world would be a better place if the following clowns got toned down or flat out never existed. We didn't get every last pixelated thorn in our side since the well runs deep with stupidly tough candidates. However we're sure a mere mention of these notorious figures will invoke memories of broken controllers and rage quits among our angrier gamers.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Sagat and M. Bison- Street Fighter series -- These partners in crime turned friendly games of Street Fighter into actual brawls. Sagat is a machine in VS mode. Utilizing his long reach, quick reaction times and damaging combos will have you calling "next" all day.

Computer controlled M. Bison wrote the book on how to design unreasonably difficult bosses in fighting games. The dictator's unreal mid-air and ground attacks had heads looking at the continue screen for days. You could finally pick him in Champion Edition onward. Then you realized it's physically impossible to do feats like walk forward and pull off a psycho crusher among other tomfoolery the CPU used to pull off. That revelation was just more proof the computer incessantly cheated while you couldn't eat.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Kirby - Super Smash Bros -- His offensive game was stacked but his flying ability really made Kirby a cheap bastard to play against. Experienced Kirby heads weren't event worth your trouble.

Unfair Video Game Characters

The Flood - Halo series -- The Flood had a cool concept and presentation in Halo 1: giving the game's pace an unexpected vibe reminiscent of a sci-fi horror flick. From then on they got increasingly relentless and annoying in future Halo games. You'd literally inch your way through the deluge on Legendary. Rest assured few missed them in Halo Reach's campaign.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Psycho Mantis - Metal Gear Solid -- Mantis creeped gamers out by breaking down their play style and even "knew" some games they played. His clairvoyant abilities always put him a step ahead until you became creative with your PlayStation controller.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Mike Vick - every football game from 04-07 -- Don't feel like learning plays or trying to read video game defenses? Grab Vick and average 300 yards a game. Play against him and you're in for a dog fight. Too soon?

Unfair Video Game Characters

Eddy Gordo and Bryan Fury - Tekken series -- The series has about a million fighters but these fools ran the show for some time. The Kazamas and Mishimas would undoubtedly rule the roost if it weren't for Gordo's deceptive Capoeira moves and Fury's fast, deadly strings.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Ruby Weapon - Final Fantasy VII -- Say goodbye to your party if you meet this guy. You'll stand a chance with the right mix of weapons, Materia and luck on your side. But, odds are, you got caught off guard with its tough attacks: leading to tons of trial and error.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Deathclaws - Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas -- You better have your wits, firepower and stimpacks on deck when you face these things. All the running in the world won't save you from their wrath.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Bo Jackson and Barry Sanders - Tecmo Super Bowl -- They're the OG indefensible football players. Good luck trying to tackle Bo. NES graphics weren't good enough to show him mouthing "b*tch please" to defenders.

Barry Sanders was on some BS too. Tecmo practically took his insane running skills and said, "Yeah why not make a future Hall of Famer even better?" The man could zig zag across the field like it was nothing.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Dr. Wily and Sigma - Mega Man series -- Mega Man's final nemeses always had a penchant for long haul bouts. The following foes arguably yielded the hardest, yet most memorable battles in the storied franchise. Imagine being a kid thinking, after fighting the original bosses one after the other, you finally stopped Wily in Mega Man 2. Then he regrouped, the real deal showed up and whupped you all across the screen. MM2's ultimate showdown was a huge endurance test and still stings after all these years.

The final boss of Mega Man X featured a three part gauntlet and, unlike prior bosses, he wasn't extremely weak to any of your weapons. You'll be in a world of hurt if you can't get his mode of attack seared into your head.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Mike Tyson - Mike Tyson's Punchout!! -- Let Iron Mike slip a dizzying punch by and you're hitting the canvas. Digital Mike's strength proved infuriating and still isn't a pushover. At least the game gave us an idea of how Trevor Berbick felt after facing him.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Praetorians - Mass Effect 2 -- Praetorians are merciless, hovering tanks with regenerative barriers. In non-geek terms, they're downright brutal and can easily skewer your squad if you're not careful.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Randy Moss - NFL 2K -- Wanna know why Madden bought the rights to the NFL? Because, quiet as it's kept, the NFL 2K series was battling neck and neck for gridiron supremacy. NFL 2K's superior wide receiver/secondary play was one of the game's great, yet exploitable features. When the Vikings dominated with Moss, it was easy to toss the rock up and let him jump for the catch. Play it against Cowboys fans and watch them weep after having traumatic flashbacks.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Maxi - Soul Calibur 2 -- Just look at this idiot. Maxi's mere presentation embodies bitchassness in digital form. His no risk-all reward fighting style takes the cake when it comes to the lexicon of cheesy, beginner friendly fighters.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Miami Heat - NBA 2K11 -- NorBel and Wade can practically run around willy nilly. Meanwhile your defenders let them slide by as if they're fans in attendance. Simply put, you shouldn't have to work so hard to beat a bunch of bums in capable hands. Miami-loving scrubs will get rocked regardless but the BS calls and plays always seem to favor the Heat in close games.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Storm, Sentinel, Magneto, Psylocke, and Cable - Marvel VS Capcom 2 -- They're not the only characters with game-breaking, infinite combos but theirs are arguably the most effective of the lot. Pick almost anyone else in the game's 56 character roster and you might as well not bother against hardcore players.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Oddjob - Goldeneye 007 -- Who's bright idea was it to include this midget in the first place? There should've been a law against allowing Oddjob in split-screen when Nintendo 64's prize jewel hit the scene.

Unfair Video Game Characters

Alma and the Ghost Fish - Ninja Gaiden -- Pretty much anything outside of grunt-level enemies can quickly kill you in Ninja Gaiden but learning there patterns made things more manageable. Alma's multiple forms had openings but she seemingly phased out of her weak points at will. One second you think you got her down. Then, as soon as she recovers, your life bar is through.

You knew what time it was when these cheap ass fish appeared out of thin air. Let one grab you and it's game over man, game over!

Unfair Video Game Characters

Tageri - Ikaruga -- Man, look at this nonsense. We're getting dizzy just by watching while homey's going about his business without a scratch.

Unfair Video Game Characters

The Dog - Duck Hunt -- "I tell you who was unfair. That f*cking dog on Duck Hunt that would laugh every time I missed the f*cking duck. He was the first bully many kids my age ever encountered." © J. Tinsley. Tell 'em why you mad son.
