With everyone teaming up these days, a K.R.I.T./Bun B EP-type project might be something to ponder. However, for present day sake, we’ll focus on Live From The Underground and their appearance on 2 Chainz’s “Pimps.”The record is about as smooth a song/video as you’re going to hear this week. As much as I respect Chainz’s grind and the overall lyrical excellence from Krizzle and Uncle Bun, that beat is something else. It’s on some sophisticated, upper-class Hip-Hop sh*t you’d expect to be played at one of those fancy dinner parties only if the concept of the song wasn’t about pimping.
And like I somewhat alluded to, all three take advantage of the instrumental’s subdued dominance in their own unique ways. 2 Chainz, the self proclaimed Codeine Cowboy, bats lead off with a simple verse, but effective enough to set the stage. Bun’s puzzle piece flow blends in well with the horns while K.R.I.T. rarely misfires, especially on a feature. The only thing making this song better would be a verse and appearance by one certain Pimp in particular.
