David Stern’s on vacation. NBA player representatives are mad about that. The lockout continues on. But Brandon Jennings is at work. He’s interning for Under Armour, working on footwear design and apparel design, and at the same time, hooping wherever the spirit takes him. Plus, for the hell of it, he’s shooting a web series. In the first episode of “Under The Armour,” Brandon checks out the Under Armour offices and drops 41 points in his debut at the Goodman League in Washington D.C. It’s a fun watch, with plenty of highlights: that block he pulls off is nuts, it’s hilarious to see him give daps to David Aldridge for some reason, and bits of Kendrick Lamar tracks serve as the soundtrack. Good stuff, and the music choice is especially appropriate. Both Kendrick Lamar and Brandon Jennings represent Compton, and Brandon called Kendrick “the best pure rapper right now.”
There’s a second episode up too, with a look at the man’s basketball camp and a peek inside his home. As always, here’s hoping that one day soon, Brandon Jennings will be back in an NBA arena doing his thing. Until then, he’s created a cool little video series, perfect for whiling away a few minutes of this Thursday evening.
