“F*ck a blog, f*ck a meeting, f*ck an A&R, F*ck a cosign, motherf*cker, f*ck it all.”
Way back before images & nepotism dominated the game, rap picked its best artists based upon how well they could actually string together words. Obviously, said time was before people watched videos and then opened another browser window to Karmaloop to score the same gear they just saw. Not to say every song needs to still rely on pure lyricism but eXquire and friends sure do provide a break from the musical monotony with the Necro-produced remix of “The Last Huzzah.” It’s also interesting to note that the video takes cues from Hype William’s joint for Craig Mack’s “Flava In Ya Ear” remix because, again, it points to one of the peaks in rap where collaborations occurred more often due chemistry than checks. Music’s been sort of sketchy since then. Don’t stress. There’s still b*tches and blunts retained in the video. Gotta keep it real, rap style.
