Whether he’s platinum or barely cracking 100K, Musiq Soulchild is going to put out quality music just off the strength he knows no other way. Philly’s own ensures his Musiqinthemagiq album receives another shot of publicity with the release of his newest video, “Yes.” The best thing about the visual may be that it actually carries a plot, and a dope one too at that. Without giving away too much before clicking play, Soulchild is in a relationship with a woman with the very real bout against breast cancer. The rest is waiting to be told, but I can assure you it doesn’t end like Aaron Hall’s “I Miss You.”
And just because stuff like this cannot be publicized enough, Musiq deciding to run with this theme for the video isn’t some ploy to appear sympathetic. He’s an actual ambassador to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Circle of Promise – an organization geared toward promoting breast cancer awareness amongst the African American female community.
