Ever since trap rap became an applicable form of hip-hop, it’s been somewhat hard to tell which MCs are actually trying to master their craft and which are simply just trying to legitimize themselves through the limelight. In the case of SL Jones, his direction becomes pretty obvious upon watching his freshly-cooked visual for “Paper Cuts.”
Thanks to an unparalleled vision by the Motion Family, viewers can take a peek into this Little Rock resident’s lifestyle and see that not only are his weighty words extremely well-pieced together (“More Os than whole bowl of Cheerios”), they’re about as serious as the shotgun-wielding, french-braided bodyguard greeting folks at his door.
If you’re looking to learn the tricks of a trade that has no guidebook, check out SL Jonesy’s Pandemonium EP (download here) and get your weight up. If you can handle it.
