“Overrated twits, I’ll take a piss in your talent pool.”
As it turns out, Chuuwee was everyone’s best kept secret since nobody mentioned him to me prior to the previous post. Determined not to miss getting a comfy seat on the bandwagon, here’s Watching The Throne, the latest from the Sacramento representative. More concept album than mixtape, the Watching The Throne’s storyline follows the reign and fall of a newly-crowned “king” and features 20 original cuts with all but two (“Feast!” and “Stones & Crowns”) created by Canadian producer ENG. For what it’s worth, ENG’s work behind the boards seems to be the only thing capable of containing Chuuwee because he’s otherwise all over the place (in a good way). Definitely a good listen for those who place more value on lyricism and the ability to make nice with words instead of tunes that rely on fad rhyme patterns, cute choruses and the ilk.
