Hoodie Allen – “James Franco” Video

By / 11.02.11

When Hoodie Allen dropped his Leap Year tape back over the Summer, “James Franco” happened to be one of the few cuts that didn’t really appeal to me. Maybe it was the bridge that brashly chanted the actor’s name, or because said track happened to be seemingly just another song named after someone random. Either way, whatever my issues were with the bluesy dedication to Spider-Man’s co-star, I can honestly say I’ve fallen back a tad on my stance since watching this slick new video.

Shot on location in wherever the hell the bus dropped him off in and around Hollywood, Hoodie traveled across the country to visually reiterate the fact the song is a dedication finding your own inner-cool – ala, who else, but James Franco – instead of just mimicking others.
