Here at TSS, we’ve never had the greatest grasp of time. Part of it is because that’s never been in our job description to be the first place up with something, unless in conjunction with a specific artist. The other part is we really don’t give a sh*t. That being said, even a month “late” posting Gerald Walker’s It’s Christmas Time…Again, the appreciation for good music remains high. If your family’s like mine, there’s always some sort of Christmas music playing around the house on December 25. After running Donny Hathaway’s holiday ode back 10 times, like you should, add Walker’s EP to the mix to keep the festive times rolling and possibly start a new tradition.
The seven track release from the producer/MC – actually his third project of 2011 – highlights his appreciation for “most wonderful time of the year.” An easy and enjoyable listen indeed, some of the standouts include the heartwarming “Christmas Everyday” and history lesson “My Name Is Gabriel.” And if, by chance, you’re looking to give Gerald a gift for the slew of quality music he’s been releasing this year, simply tell a friend to tell a friend. I’m almost positive gaining a new fan is all he wants from Santa.
