Did Wiz Khalifa Steal “Black & Yellow”?

By 01.05.12

Wiz Khalifa is being sued by Max Gregory Warren, a western PA. resident who performed under the name Maxamillion and claims Khalifa’s big radio hit “Black & yellow” was swiped from his 2007 song “Pink ‘N Yellow.” Take a listen for yourself and then decide.

Maxamillion Feat. Yung Zee, Frank G & AC – “Pink ‘N Yellow”

Geographic proximity? Yes. Color-coded chorus with a similar melody? Hmm…very feeble but maybe. The song’s content? Not much similarity. So is it stolen? Obviously questionable but Warren felt he had enough of a case to file suit seeking $2,375,000 in punitive and actual damages. If he wins, “Maxamillion” obviously will make rake in a gazillion more than anything he could’ve garnered had he produced a gazillion shitty songs like “Pink ‘N Yellow.”
