Apparently, rebound addict Kevin Love likes the direction that the Minnesota Timberwolves are headed. The 23-year-old power forward recently signed a contract extension with the only ball club he’s ever played for, a deal that will net him $60 million over three years with a player’s option for a fourth.
Considering the promising young nucleus David Kahn has fallen into, Love resigning was a smart move. Ricky Rubio will be a ROY frontrunner for the entire season, Derrick Williams is quietly putting things together, and Wesley Johnson, Anthony Randolph and Wayne Ellington all represent prospects with relatively high ceilings. Even Michael Beasley has shown that he deserves to stay around for a while. It’s shocking that a team that drafted point guards with consecutive first round picks boasts one of the league’s strongest young cores, but that’s where we are in 2012. T’Wolves fans have a lot to look forward to.
