“And since my case, I got all my guns in my mama name…”
Maybe I’m tripping, but has it felt like it’s been a minute since new material from Wayne has dropped? “That’s What They Call Me” isn’t exactly new – it saw the light of day last year with a Gudda Gudda feature – but this is original in the sense that the sound quality is crisp and finds Wayne running solo. Other than that, not much to see here other than adding yet another Weezy record to the archives.
And while we’re here, let’s just add in a newly released piece of material, the video for C4’s “Mirror,” featuring Bruno Mars and directed by Antoine Fuqua.
Sidenote: Am I the only one who thinks Wayne needs to drop a No Ceilings 2/Dedication 4-type mixtape? Sorry For The Wait just didn’t pack that same punch most tapes from Mr. Carter usually deliver. Although I’m sure he probably is, the powers that be need to let the dude smoke weed again, too. A high Wayne + a studio + sports references = a good ass time.
