Minnesota’s Kevin Love scored 25 points and snagged 18 boards to lead the Timberwolves to a 100-91 win over Houston in Saturday night’s action. Nothing but an ordinary night for Love, but it’s one that will be remembered (and rehashed endlessly) for one play: his footplant on Luis Scola in the third quarter. On purpose or just an accidental part of the action? Love reportedly dubbed it an unintentional, “heat of the moment” play and later apologized to Scola in the Houston locker room. With the sports world only so many months removed from Ndamukong Suh’s Packer stomp, can we expect Stern to save face (no pun) and follow Goodell’s lead by dishing out a heavy punishment for Love? Or will it be a standard fine and moving right along?
