Converse assembled quite the musical ensemble to promote its Three Artists, One Song series and the accompanying Gorillaz-themed shoe collection: Gorillaz’ mastermind Damon Albarn, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and Andre 3000. Considering the trio’s eccentric résumés, the glitchy freakfest that ensues on “DoYaThing” is exactly what fans would expect. Albarn’s static-y spoken-word double-time builds up the first half, before Three Stacks machine guns his verse through the track’s conclusion. It’s a twisted toe-tapper, which actually buoys the cut’s corporate tag line, “A monster of a collab, a beast of a track.”
