When I plugged into Skewby’s music video for “Almost There,” it was almost like a part of me wanted to stand up and clap for the kid. Not the type of cheering you give after a successful performance though, but rather the kind you deliver as the marathon runner you’ve been rooting for is bending the final turn, panting and trotting towards the red ribbon finale. It doesn’t matter if they won the race or not either, because you know how much hard work the person has put in and you’re just pleased to see they stuck it out and are finally about to reach their goal.
If you didn’t feel the same way, go back and download this song. It’s inspiring, to say the least. When that’s sunk in, go dig up both Skewb’s More Or Less project, which dropped about a year ago, and his Proving You Wrong Since 1988 debut, as well. Then, you’ll understand.
