Lil B’s portfolio building included an invitation to speak at NYU last night, and, depending on your appetite for unintentional comedy, he didn’t disappoint. From the get-go, he brought the weird, opening by thanking “each and every one of you, every beautiful person in the building, every legend, every historical human being” (as opposed to un-historical human beings, whom he’s never been fond of). You can listen the entire speech below or comb through it over at Fader (Rap Radar has up assorted video clips as well); it’s a comedic treasure chest.
In other #based news, Lil B is taking the Weezy/Cudi route and putting out a rock CD. Titled California Boy, B declared at NYU “I’m not some rapper who’s going to make some joke rock album. This is going to be real respect. This is going some garage punk. This is going to be for the rebels.” As if his detractors don’t already have loads of ammunition against him, here comes B, handing his haters the shiniest, easiest weapon a rap hater needs: a rock album.
