Brenton Duvall Delivers Drake Flips To Celebrate 21st Birthday

By 04.30.12

It should amaze you that Brenton Duvall just turned 21. Despite teasing fans by releasing new music once every three months or so, the face of Potomac Boys Club has already amassed a loyal following with his reproduced mash-ups and original remixes of the past, present and future of rap, without even coming close to hitting anything resembling a stride. Actually, what’s this kid’s got going is more like a strut, dropping gems whenever the hell he damn well pleases.

Last night, to celebrate the last meaningful birthday he’ll experience for a while, Brenton delivered his latest dosage of dope, with two seemingly throwaway Drake remixes he had just laying around. Zoned and lo-fi, both of these flips feel like you just hit a trippy stick standing atop the Swedish Alps and will still kill amidst any bedroom mix you can conjure up. But before you verify the goods for yourself, here’s what the birthday boy had to say on his blog.

today i turned 21. its sunny in the district and ive just been in a good mood lately. i appreciate having an audience that will let me drop basically nothing for months and then listen to whatever weird idea i decided to put out spontaneously. these are 2 drake flips (doing it wrong, crew love). definitely slower and more ambient. cuz das what i like!!! don’t ask me to make a mash up anymore, i never really did in the first place! but i digress, because the point is im putting out whatever i want. i kinda fuck with this shit and i hope you do as well. expect alot more so damn soon…its kind of crazy forreal. look at drake up there. he still dancin. lil guy. anyway shouts outs my moms n dads nahmsayin for givin birth to me nahmsayin. please go toss one for me today!!!!!! i definitely tossed like 6 for each of you!

With that out of the way, here’s to wishing Brent a quick resolution to the hangover he’s surely submerged in today and hoping his next new tracks will indeed be “crazy forreal.”
