We tipped you off to JMSN’s impressive debut album, †Priscilla†, a couple of months ago, and now it seems that others are starting to take note of the talented alternative R&B artist. Life+Times did a feature on the singer/producer and he even scored a MTV premiere for his latest visuals.
As a logical next step, JMSN seems to have garnered enough notoriety to where his music is now prime for remix duty by up-and-coming producers. For the re-envisioning of the brooding “Jameson,” it’s UK production duo Shelter Point handling the reigns behind the boards. Putting their own spin on the track while retaining its dark core, Shelter Point switch out the bluesy feel from the original for ghostly atmosphere, programmed drum stabs, and eerie chopped-and-screwed vocals.
Speaking of dark vibes and re-envisionings, JMSN also released a Stephen Mallett-directed video for “Jameson.” Inspired by the 2009 Danish film Antichrist, the clip is decidedly less strange than his video for “Something” but still has its fair share of abstract imagery and bare skin.
