During their Death Row days, Dre and Snoop created classic music for years and this isn’t up for debate. Beef, bad contracts and bullsh*t sent everyone their separate ways and there’s been a gaping Dr. Dre-bicep-sized void in Hip-Hop that’s truly yet to be filled. But last night, for one night only, everyone was back together like it was 1995 again.
I watched Coachella’s stream live and the performance was absolutely mind-blowing. The Death Row slash West Coast golden era was unfortunately right before my time but seeing it all recreated last night was a dope sight. Of course, it only left me wishing I could have been around to witness it all happen in real time twenty years ago (can you believe it’s been that long?) but I’m glad I can now say I got to view it with my own eyes, even if it was only for an hour.
