No wealth of words here because there’s no need. Looking at these ads is like taking a trip to the museum, revisiting Nike’s past and seeing stories inside of stories and, like a museum, talking and words only clutter up the experience. Picking up where the previous post, “Memory Lane: Vintage Nike Ads,” left off, what we’re amassing here are pieces of footwear history. Featured are models that went into extinction, ad campaigns that led to greatness (and retros) and athletes built into one-name entities and allusions through the most basic medium.

And before we begin the trip, give praise and honor to Flight-Time and Classic Kicks NYC for the finds you’re about to see. They deserve 98% of the credit for the items and both of those fine e-establishments have archives of old mag scans for sneakers, skateboarding, basketball and more. I’m only spreading the pics and ads just so they go into the wild known as the Internet for future preservation.
