After a few years out of the limelight, Dwele has re-emerged with his latest taste of soul, “What Profit.” Both written and produced by the multifaceted Detroit singer, this classy single depicts an egocentric high-roller, who ditches his longtime lady after she stuck with him through his rise to the top. Far from self-depicted, the “Flashing Lights” vocalist actually scolds the man for his cold-hearted decision, saying true love is the one thing that lasts long beyond any of the fortune and fame.
While the ladies are bound to dig this, it’s the fellas that might want to listen along and take notes.
