If you’re not careful, those roaches in your “Ashtray” can really end up biting you in the ass. However, for as menacing as the latest leak from Rugby Thompson is, it wouldn’t surprise us if the one time just turned right around after pulling up to DZA’s whip, no matter how many tails are littering that little chrome container. Aside from just Raw Lewis-like aggression from all three upper-class MCs here, Harry Fraud’s hazy backdrop sounds like it could score a scene from Miami Vice, just before the climax, when everything is spiraling out of control. You know, like a love interest being found butchered, or Tubbs getting shot in slow-motion. Something meant to leave you with the shivers.
Yet, venomous is viable in Hip-Hop and this track not only backs that, but delivers one more reason to cop Smoke’s new CD when it drops on June 19.
