…and on this fast break the NBA’s three time scoring champion tossed an alley oop to his athletic and equally controversial point guard – yup, the point guard – with the end result being exactly what the 2012 NBA fan would expect. The dunk itself wasn’t exactly ground breaking. Russell’s exaggeration and Braveheart scream, however, was the selling point.
As it pertains to the series, wasn’t just a week ago when the hot question was whether the Spurs could sweep the entire playoffs? Like I said a few days ago, it’s important to judge a series as a whole instead of declaring a team dead after one loss. Maybe Lil Wayne is actually more cursed than myself; San Antonio hasn’t won since Weezy tweeted “Go Spurs.” Now, everybody’s favorite feel-good team (OKC) stands 48 minutes away from advancing to their first of an expected many NBA Finals. That said, the hardest game in sports to win is a close out game. The Thunder should be fine, especially if they omit their “let’s-not-pass-KD-the-ball-in-the-fourth-when-he’s-hot” scheme.
I have more to say, but I have my own Game 5 to concern myself with.
