While soaking up Hall Of Game the other day for the first time in years, I was so elated to hear Forty Water kick reality raps on “Things’ll Never Change,” I ran it back twice and sent a text to my homies encouraging the same. Eloquently produced and narrated from the heart, this somber 1996 single was not only one of my favorite songs coming up, the honesty and crucial message displayed here by the occasionally over-the-top MC just show how versatile he is and always has been.
Whether you agree or not, with a variety pack of singles spread across over two decades in the game, Uncle Earl isn’t only one of the most prolific Bay Area rappers – he’s one of the most prolific, period.
