“N*ggas out here dry snitching writing books/ Lying out their ass just to sell a book”
In light of all the Mobb Deep tomfoolery that’s happened in the recent months, the amount of f*cks I have left to give are growing thin, despite my Stan-ery for the duo. And though they’ll probably never make another album together, Havoc and Prodigy still have records to sell and Hav, in particular, is pushing his 13 EP with the single “Same Shit, Different Day.”
As eexpected, the song is enh at best but the quoted lyric above immediately turns heads as a probable slight at Prodigy. However, playing devil’s advocate, P did say some pretty disparaging things about Hav, and the Mobb Deep producer has every right to take issue with them, especially since P made them public. A close source confirmed to me that they’ve had on-again, off-again feuds for well over a decade now, but always did a good job of keeping it private and separate from the music. That is, of course, up until Havoc’s “phone got hacked” and all that Twitter garbage happened.
At the end of the day though, it’s just a shame that it’s come to this. The worst part is that Havoc still isn’t man enough to admit that he really did send out those tweets and put the whole thing to rest. And now he’s sunk to the level of sending “subliminal” disses to his longtime partner.
Sigh, will this saga just end already?
