The 'Free Pussy Riot' Movement Appears To Be Actually Working

Jon Connor – “What I Do” (Prod. By Statik Selektah)

It seems that Statik Selektah has always preferred to work with strictly spitters, which is exactly why his first collaboration with Jon Connor sounds so potent. From a still-unnamed project the MC/producer-duo plan have in the works, “What I Do” sounds, well, exactly like you’d expect. Centered around Statik’s cut up brass samples, Connor’s rapid-fire braggadocio bars and splices of Snoop Doggy Dogg for the hook, the track actually exceeded expectations – as the elements almost seem meant for one another.

That said, cross your Hip-Hop loving fingers and hope the rest of the project keeps pace. However, when you grind as much as Connor or Statik and are so routine with your craft, these two putting out more quality material together is inevitable.
