Turning gunplay and violence into a conceptually sound song is an art form that very few rappers accomplish on the regular. Yet, on this piano-laden gem from Styles’ A Gangster And A Gentleman debut, The LOX member did just that by spinning an imaginative twist on his trigger-finger mentality.
“Nobody Believes Me” found Ghost enlisting his former inner-circle – Sheek, Cross and Jae Hood – as weapons of choice, who argue with him and each other like they were scorned females, fighting for their man and chance to pop off. The delivery is spot-on, thought-provoking and almost feel-good, making for one of those songs you can spin back-to-back and never stop being impressed by.
