1994 was a brilliant year for rap. However, when the topic comes up, Gang Starr’s fourth album, Hard To Earn, ends up getting left out of conversations because they weren’t the new kids on the block anymore. Even with a couple of joints under their belts, they still sounded as hungry as anybody – new or old – but they didn’t really have to compete or even keep up. You get that respect when you’re working your own unique lane.
