Kids These Days – “Bud Biliken”

By 10.26.12

Kids These Days, you had me at “hello.” In this case, “hello” happens to be paying homage to one of the first rap songs I ever bought on cassette, Crucial Conflict, “Hay.” The track itself is opera-inspired track with pianos, horns and all things Beethoven would have grown to appreciate had he lived another 300 years or so. You know, as long as he didn’t mind hearing about smoking weed.

In all seriousness, KTD does an ill job covering the Midwest classic and adding their own spin. It’s sophisticated stoner music. I’m not mad at that. Not mad at that at all.
