After watching 30 For 30’s Broke last night, the theme for today – as it should be everyday – is “financial responsibility.” And it would behoove you, the consumer, to let loose of a few dollars to purchase Miguel’s new album Kaleidoscope Dream. Where “How Many Drinks” appears as if it will stamp itself as the next single, the R&B crooner let loose of the video for “Do You.”
To be quiet honest, Miguel’s got more than his fair share of singles at his disposal on the album. I’m not mad at this receiving the visual treatment given the track it stands as a personal favorite from the LP. Matching the level of its surface addictiveness, “Do You” is as smooth as a rhtym and blues single as the landscape has at the current moment (you know, aside from “Adorn”). The ’90s will never resurface again. Having said that, it is good to hear someone pushing something as authentic it gets as far as this genre is concerned in 2012.
