For post-game press conference lore and now to retail, Kevin Durant’s now famed backpack can now be bought with the December release of the KD Hoops Elite Ball backpack. And while we’ve known for a while what KD keeps in his personal knapsack (“headphones, bible and chargers”), we get a closer look at what went into creating a backpack for everyone.
Nike Basketball’s task was to embed the bag with a deeper story on the look, materials, fabrication and functionality. Water-resistant ripstop nylon, zippered compartments of different sizes and padded shoulder straps emblazoned with the KD and Swoosh logos hold KD down. Each element serves a purpose and came from collaboration with Durant himself.
